Active Cooling

Silent Airflow. Smart Efficiency.

Piezoelectric fans are innovative, solid-state cooling solutions that use the piezoelectric effect to generate airflow without traditional rotating blades. Unlike conventional fans, which rely on bulky motors and spinning components, piezoelectric fans consist of a thin vibrating element—usually a piezoelectric ceramic bonded to a flexible metal or polymer blade. When an AC voltage is applied, the piezoelectric material rapidly expands and contracts, causing the blade to oscillate at high frequency and displace air.

This compact, low-power design enables efficient cooling in space-constrained and noise-sensitive environments, making piezo fans ideal for modern electronics, LED lighting, sensors, medical devices, and wearable technology.

How It Works:

The fan operates by driving the piezoelectric element at its resonant frequency, generating a strong oscillatory motion. This motion induces airflow through vortex shedding and acoustic streaming, creating a cooling effect over nearby components. Despite their small size, piezo fans can deliver highly directional airflow with minimal power consumption—often less than 1 watt.

Key Advantages:

  • Ultra-Compact Form Factor – Ideal for slim, space-limited enclosures where traditional fans cannot fit.

  • Low Power Consumption – Typically consumes 80–90% less energy than traditional fans, ideal for battery-powered or energy-sensitive devices.

  • Silent Operation – No rotating blades or motors means virtually noiseless performance.

  • Highly Reliable – Solid-state design eliminates friction, wear, and dust buildup, significantly increasing lifespan.

  • Safe and Blade-Free – No risk of mechanical injury, making it suitable for exposed or interactive applications.

  • Environmentally Friendly – Reduced power use and no moving parts mean lower maintenance and longer operational life.

Applications:

  • Consumer Electronics – Laptops, gaming consoles, smartphones, and other compact devices

  • LED Cooling – Efficient heat dissipation for LED lamps, strips, and display panels

  • Medical Devices – Ventilated enclosures for diagnostics, monitoring, or wearable systems

  • Sensors and IoT – Silent, low-profile cooling for smart sensors and microcontrollers

  • Automotive – Cooling ECUs, camera modules, or in-cabin electronics
